Financial Analyst
The Financial Analyst is responsible for certain accounting and analysis functions including monthly financial and statistical reporting and analysis, general ledger maintenance, patient and grant revenue analysis, cost accounting data gathering and analysis, budget preparation for grant applications, pro-forma report preparation and analysis for special projects, patient revenue and accounts receivable maintenance, and other accounting functions. The Financial Analyst reports to the Chief Financial Officer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(The following is used as a partial description and is not restrictive as to duties required) 1. Prepares and analyzes monthly financial reports and statistical reports. 2. Produces the monthly productivity reports and calculates incentives. 3. Coordinates and prepares the annual budget for the Federal Grant application. 4. Prepares budget for various grant applications including related required financial reports. 5. Coordinates month-end close including data download/upload between the Practice management system, accounting system, and payroll system 6. Gathers and analyzes cost accounting data from the practice management, accounting and payroll systems. 7. Prepares the annual Medicare cost report. 8. Assists other Accounting staff in maintaining fixed asset records and system as necessary. 9. Completes special projects for the CFO and/or CEO. 10. Attends the Board meeting in the absence of the CFO 11. Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability: 1. Proficiency in operating a 10-key machine; personal computer; electronic file transfer; and software including MS Word, Excel, practice management, accounting, and payroll systems, and database management software. 2. Ability to speak before a group to present and explain concepts. 3. Detail oriented and precise. 4. Neat and well organized. Training and Experience: 1. Bachelors degree in accounting. 2. 2-5 years hands-on accounting experience, preferably in healthcare setting, coupled with experience in governmental agencies at both Federal and State levels. 3. Experience in computer-oriented environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and push up to 100 pounds (on wheels). 2. Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff. 3. Must have vision that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents. 4. Must have high manual dexterity. 5. Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, twist and turn.
