Northview Groundbreaking – Celebrating the new 26,000 square foot facility in Merced

On November 8, 2018 Golden Valley Health Centers (GVHC) and members of the community broke ground on a new two-story facility in Merced. The 26,000 square foot health center will be built across from the Mercy Medical Center complex in North Merced. This new facility will feature a walk-in prompt care clinic (for non-emergent care), pharmacy, and laboratory alongside 37 exam rooms.

GVHC first began serving the Merced community in 1972. They have since grown to 36 sites, serving over 150,000 patients throughout Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin Counties. They offer a wide range of services including: pediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine, behavioral health, dental, optometry, women’s health, podiatry, health education, & chiropractic services.

The new health center will have ample room for all patients, with a large area designated to accommodate pediatric patients and their families. “The center is expected to relieve pressure on the Mercy emergency room and provide follow-up care for patients who may be reluctant to visit ERs or regular hospitals,” said CEO Tony Weber. Having both medical and behavioral health teams in one location will allow GVHC to further their efforts toward integrated medical care.

Reasonable access to quality health care in Merced County can only be solved by adding a new large-scale facility. GVHC is committed to expanding access to quality healthcare for all with the Northview Clinic. The new facility is set to open Winter 2019.

Naming opportunities are available for different areas of the new clinic. For sponsorship and/or donation opportunities, please contact foundation@gvhc.org

Vaccination hubs are provided to the community to help keep children up-to-date with their age-appropriate and school mandated vaccines. On-time vaccination throughout childhood is essential and helps to prevent exposure to potentially life-threatening diseases.
