Mr. Quackenbush serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Golden Valley Health Centers (GVHC) in California’s Central Valley. As CEO, Mr. Quackenbush develops, prioritizes and provides direction and oversight for the organization’s vision, strategy, and growth focused on increasing access to high quality comprehensive health care services throughout the communities served by GVHC.
Mr. Quackenbush is a seasoned, nonprofit executive with 25 years of a successful record advocating for health care access and insurance coverage for low-income communities throughout California including health care reform (Affordable Care Act) and state and local public and private insurance programs. Mr. Quackenbush has led multiple community clinic and health center (Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), Migrant Health Centers, Rural Health Clinics) organizations through growth and reorganizations resulting in expanded resources and staff capacity to fulfill the organizational mission.
As the Chief Strategy Officer for a regional FQHC in Northern California, Mr. Quackenbush led the development, execution, communication and sustaining of corporate success strategies and related initiatives and resources resulting in new site development, multiple private and nonprofit mergers and continuous growth in patient populations.
As the Vice President of Member Services for the California Primary Care Association (CPCA), Mr. Quackenbush guided the statewide nonprofit membership organization as part of Executive Team providing strategic visioning and leadership development for staff with 200 member agencies providing 5 million primary care visits to low-income families throughout California.
Prior to joining CPCA, Mr. Quackenbush was the Chief Executive Officer for the Central Valley Health Network (CVHN), a central California network of FQHCs and Migrant Health Centers providing 2.5 million primary care encounters to over 600,000 low-income families through 130 sites in 21 counties annually. CVHN was the largest network in California and the largest migrant health center network in the nation.
Mr. Quackenbush has consistently been an active member in both National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and CPCA having served on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and numerous policy committees and task forces.
Mr. Quackenbush had also previously launched his own consulting group, Quackenbush & Company, to assist organizations to maximize participation and success in the newly reformed managed health care delivery system through the Affordable Care Act and Medi-Cal expansion.
Mr. Quackenbush is a Governor appointee serving both the Governor Brown and Governor Schwarzenegger administrations as a Board Member of the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley which stimulates economic development and collaboration throughout California’s Central Valley.
Mr. Quackenbush is a proud graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor’s Degree and attained his Master’s in Health Administration Degree from A.T. Still University.
