Groundbreaking Ceremony Kicks Off Future Merced PACE Program 

Golden Valley Health Centers (GVHC) will break ground at 727 West Childs Merced, CA, to celebrate a new and exciting project – Central Valley PACE, Merced. The PACE center will serve as a new addition to the Childs Avenue site, where the original Golden Valley Health Centers clinic opened 50 years ago, and where the largest GVHC campus in our service region remains today. The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking. 

In 2021, GVHC introduced its first Central Valley PACE program in Modesto. The day center, designed to care for qualified individuals 55 and older, allows participants to live safely at home while receiving personalized medical care, meals, activities and socialization during daytime hours. Onsite services include a full medical team of primary care physicians, nurses, dental and vision care providers, physical therapy and more. 

“We have seen an enormous need for expanded PACE services locally since we opened the doors of our Modesto PACE operation last year,” said GVHC President and CEO, Tony Weber. “With more than two hundred participants currently receiving care at PACE, we knew that opening an additional program in Merced County would be of great benefit to many residents living there. We are dedicated to serving seniors throughout our communities, and supporting their caregivers,” he added. 

Central Valley PACE takes an all-inclusive approach to the care of a senior, prioritizing the health of the whole individual. The program provides in-home support services including showering, meal prep and meal delivery, housekeeping, medication management, physical therapy and more. Transportation services are also available, allowing participants ADA compliant ride opportunities to and from appointments and the PACE day center. 

Construction work begins at Central Valley PACE, Merced, in December and the program is expected to open in July of 2024.
