Golden Valley Health Centers Closes Their Monoclonal Antibody Therapy Clinic

Monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapy, also called monoclonal antibody treatment, is a way of treating COVID-19. The goal of this therapy is to help prevent hospitalizations, reduce viral loads and lessen severe complications from COVID-19 including death.

Unfortunately, the medication REGEN-COV, which is a combined treatment of Casirivimab and Imdevimab, is currently not as effective with the Omicron Variant. Therefore, Golden Valley Health Centers has officially stopped treatment at our Modesto Mission location on Wednesday, January 18th, 2022.

GVHC re-opened our Modesto Mission for mAb treatment on November 4th, 2021, after previously placing a hold on mAb treatment in May of 2021. The first hold on the mAb treatment was due to our medication, Bamlanivimab, not being as effective with Delta Variant cases.
