GVHC to Celebrate National Health Center Week

National Health Center Week Events Celebrate the Past, Present and Future of Community Health Centers

August 4–9 is National Health Center Week, an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). This week offers a meaningful opportunity to highlight the critical work of Community Health Centers, and raises awareness in the communities we serve. Each year, Golden Valley Health Centers (GVHC) hosts a series of events focused on patients, families and community partnerships. These events recognize the mission of health centers and celebrate the dedication of Community Health Center staff.

GVHC is one of the largest Community Health Centers in California and has been proudly serving Central Valley communities for over 50 years. With a growing network of 52 clinic sites, GVHC provides high quality health care to more than 160,000 patients each year. This August, GVHC will host events throughout our service areas that honor the communities we serve and the healthcare teams who support them.

Community Health Centers like GVHC serve as pillars of access, equity, and resilience in communities across the country. Together, health centers provide care to 32.5 million patients in nearly 16,000 communities nationwide. In California, one in five residents receives care at a community health center. GVHC invites the community to join local leaders, elected officials in celebrating National Health Center Week.
