Antiretroviral Therapy (ART)

HIV medicines — called Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) — are recommended for everyone diagnosed with HIV. While ART does not cure HIV, it allows people to live long, healthy lives. The goal of Rapid ART is to quickly lower the amount of HIV virus in the blood — the viral load — to a level so low it is hard to detect by lab tests, which makes the virus unable to be passed to others.
