Immunizations & Vaccines

Immunizations help protect children, teens, and adults from serious illnesses before they start. Vaccines work by helping the body build protection against certain diseases and are recommended throughout life based on age, health history, and risk factors. Staying up to date on vaccines can help prevent the spread of illness and protect your family and community. At GVHC, our team can help review your vaccine history and recommend the vaccines that are right for you. Current CDC guidance recommends routine vaccines across the lifespan, including yearly flu vaccination for everyone 6 months and older, age-based childhood and adult vaccine schedules, and pneumococcal vaccines for young children, adults 50 and older, and some people with certain health conditions.
