Monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapy, also called monoclonal antibody treatment, is a way of treating COVID-19. The goal of this therapy is to help prevent hospitalizations, reduce viral loads and lessen severe complication from COVID-19 including death.

“We are excited to begin offering this treatment again since we had to place a hold on it in May 2021 due to the medication, Balanivimab, not being as effective towards the Delta Variant.  We now offer REGEN-COV which is a combined treatment with Casirivimab and Imdevimab and is currently effective in treating all strains of COVID-19.” Said Roman Scanlon Marketing Manager with Golden Valley Health Centers.

“We would like to make sure we offer Monoclonal treatment to those who meet the qualifications and are at the highest risk. We have had great success with reducing symptoms that would have required hospitalization if left untreated. While this treatment is highly effective your best protection against COVID-19 is to get vaccinated and receive your booster shots when it is your time. Due to nationwide shortages of this medication, we still urge everyone to receive their COVID-19 Vaccines as this treatment will not be available to everyone.” stated Dr. Soriano who is the clinical lead for the Monoclonal antibody therapy program.

Currently nearly all GVHC Medical locations in San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced counties offer COVID-19 Vaccinations and Booster Shots; We offer Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson. To find a location near you visit:  www.gvhc.org/covid-19-vaccines
