New Innovative Telehealth Program

Golden Valley Health Centers (GVHC) is proud to announce the launch of an innovative telehealth program called TytoCare.

The TytoCare Program is an advanced and future-forward approach to providing patients with the flexibility to receive telehealth care from the comfort of their homes utilizing cameras, stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, oximeters, and scales. GVHC is the first California-based Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) to deploy a cutting-edge Telehealth program, and one of the first in the nation.

Golden Valley Health Centers TytoCare Program

The goal of GVHC TytoCare program is to ultimately improve access and health outcomes for their patients, especially those who may require more frequent visits, such as our chronic care patients and those patients experiencing transportation barriers.

The pilot program officially launched on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, at which time, thirty GVHC diabetic patients enrolled in the program and met with our providers to get training on how to use the new TytoCare equipment, along with health screenings and education.

Program participants received a connected care device, which contains accessories that will allow care teams to provide more comprehensive telemedicine visits. For Example, a patient will have access to:

  • Thermometer
  • Oximeter
  • Otoscope
  • Stethoscope
  • Camera for Ears, Nose, and Throat
  • Tongue depressors
  • Blood pressure cuffs
  • And much more

All accessories will be able to record results and save them within the patient’s chart! Additionally, patients who may not have access to smartphone devices or reliable Internet may qualify to receive a data-enabled iPad.

More On TytoCare

TytoCare allows providers to assess a patient outside of a health facility using some of the same diagnostic tools that they would use in a clinic. Tytocare also provides more flexibility to patients, who may be experiencing challenges in accessing care, but it also allows providers to expand on the clinical services they provide via telehealth.
